Norwest Respiratory and Sleep Disorders
Is a dedicated multi-specialist practice prides itself in patient centred care with focus on improving the health outcomes of our patients. We provide a comprehensive consultation and diagnostic services to our patients in all aspects of Respiratory and sleep related conditions.
We have a brand new Lung function lab and in house sleep services providing Home sleep studies and CPAP titrations. We perform Diagnostic bronchoscopy and EBUS procedures at Norwest endoscopy and Nepean Hospital.
We also provide in-house chest physiotherapy for our patients with weekly sessions.
Our Specialists have admitting rights at the Norwest Private Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital and Hospital for Specialist surgery (HSS) at BellaVista.
Our Specialists actively participate at the lung cancer multidisciplinary meeting at the Norwest private Hospital and Liverpool Hospital and Interstitial lung disease multidisciplinary meeting at the Norwest Hospital and Liverpool Hospital and Nepean Hospital.
We also have Endocrinology consultant service in our practice on a sessional basis and monthly Echo cardiac service to help with providing an integrated care to our patients and wider community.

Dr. Stephen Parsons
Dr Stephen Parsons is a senior Respiratory and Sleep Physician with Staff Specialist position at the Liverpool Hospital.
He is a VMO at the Norwest Private hospital and Macquarie University Hospital. He is a senior lecturer at the UNSW and has been involved in medical student teaching for many years.
He has been in private practice around the Hills area for many years .
His Practice covers a wide range of Respiratory and Sleep conditions and has a special interest in Pulmonary Hypertension management.

Dr. Jeremy Ong
Dr Jeremy Ong is a respiratory and sleep physician who graduated from the University of Notre Dame, Sydney. He completed specialist training in Westmead, Royal Prince Alfred, Nepean, and Blacktown Hospitals with broad exposure to subspecialty fields including bronchiectasis, EBUS, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension.
He sees all aspects of respiratory medicine with a special interest in severe asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, lung cancer, interventional pulmonology, pulmonary embolism and sleep-disordered breathing.
He is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), European Respiratory Society (ERS) and World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP). Dr Ong is committed to ensuring patients receive the highest level of care and expertise.


Dr. Sugamya Mallawathantri
Dr. Subash Srikantha
Dr Mallawathantri completed her training in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom in 2007. During her training, she developed a strong subspecialty focus in lung cancer and undertook dedicated training in EBUS, medical thoracoscopy, and palliative care.
She subsequently worked as a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust until 2014, where she served as Lung Cancer MDT Lead and Service Development Lead, contributing to the advancement of integrated lung cancer services.
After relocating to Australia, Dr Mallawathantri worked in Dubbo, NSW for seven years and played a key role in developing and expanding respiratory and lung cancer services within Dubbo Health Service. In 2021, she was appointed Visiting Medical Officer in Respiratory Medicine at Tamworth Hospital, where she continues to provide bronchoscopy and EBUS services.
.Following over a decade of dedicated service in regional and rural Australia, Dr Mallawathantri is now relocating to Sydney. In addition to her expertise in lung cancer, she manages a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, and interstitial lung disease.
She is fluent in both English and Sinhala.
Dr Subash Srikantha is an experienced Respiratory and Sleep Physician with private consulting rooms at Bellavista. He also works as a VMO at the Norwest private Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital.
He previously worked at the Nepean Hospital as a VMO and is currently the Discipline Head of Respiratory Department at the Norwest Private Hospital. He is also a senior lecturer at the Notre Dame University.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and underwent specialist training in Respiratory and Sleep medicine at Liverpool Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital.
His practice covers a wide range of respiratory and sleep conditions including Asthma, COPD, lung infections, lung cancer and sleep disorders ( Sleep apnoea, Insomnia , Narcolepsy and Parasomnias). He has been involved in the teaching of medical students and GP colleagues.
